My name is Bengen and I am a welder from China, I started my welding career in 2023. I currently focus on high-purity argon arc welding. Before that, I worked in IT, which gives me a cross-disciplinary background and helps me use computer skills and tools to learn, improve, and solve problems in welding.
I built this website in my spare time to document and share my growth in the welding profession, including lessons learned, practical tips, and personal experiences. I hope it can be useful for fellow welders or enthusiasts, and also help me organize and reflect on my own journey.

- Checked 304/316L pipe materials and dimensions, cleaned welding surfaces, and set up parts according to drawings using clamps for accurate positioning.
- Performed tack welding and full TIG welds following the welding sequence, controlling weld size, shape, and direction.
- Used fixtures and rotary tables to optimize welding angles and reduce distortion, applying symmetrical or segmented welding when needed.
- Measured final parts after welding and corrected any deviations to meet drawing specifications.
Studied English for 6 months, progressed from A1 to B1.
Worked at a company that builds and integrates welding robots. My main jobs were setting up and checking fixtures, programming robots on-site, and helping with client demos and training.
Helped with robot welding programming and process setup to make the welding more stable and efficient.
Took part in welding projects for stainless steel frames, carbon steel flanges, and vehicle parts using robotic arm arc welding.
Chose the right wires (flux-cored or solid) and shielding gases (CO₂ or mixed gas) based on the material, and adjusted current, voltage, and travel speed to get clean welds with less spatter.
Familiar with TCP teaching, basic robot setup, linear and circular welds, and using touch sensing or arc tracking to find seams.
Performed TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel pipes, making sure the welds were clean and met quality standards.
Worked on pipeline welding and stainless steel fittings used in low-temperature LNG storage tanks.
Followed WPS requirements carefully, checking interpass temperature, current, and gas flow to keep the weld quality stable.
Recorded welding steps and results as required to make sure all work met inspection and safety standards
SMAW (Stick Welding) – Trained on carbon steel thick plate butt joints in 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G positions, and carbon steel pipe welding in 2G, 5G, and 6G positions using TIG for root pass and SMAW for fill and cap passes. Practiced multi-pass welding techniques.
MIG Welding – Practiced welding in 1G, 2G, 3G, 1F, 2F, and 3F positions on carbon steel and stainless steel using solid and flux-cored wires. Learned how to choose the right wire type and shielding gas for different materials.
TIG Welding – Trained on carbon steel and stainless steel pipe welding in 2G, 5G, and 6G positions, covering root, fill, and cap passes.
Also studied basic welding theory, including electrical safety, use of protective equipment, welding symbols, common weld defects, and gas selection for various materials.
